The Medicine

Wear it! Become your own healer

You found your way here for a reason. Maybe you’ve been feeling scattered, heavy, or a little far from yourself. Maybe something just called to you. Either way, you’re right where you’re meant to be.

Copper has been with us since the beginning. Our ancestors wore it close to their skin long before anyone wrote down why. They knew what your body already knows. You are made of the earth, and the earth remembers you.

For six years, I’ve formed every piece by hand. I don’t force the copper, I listen to it. It decides where to spiral and where to bend, and I rarely know what it will become until it’s finished. That’s why no two pieces are alike, and why the one that finds you is truly yours.

This is medicine you don’t have to swallow or practise. You simply wear it. Over time, you remember that you were your own healer all along.

Where will you wear yours?

Your wrist is where your pulse meets the metal, a steady place for copper to keep your days in flow and balance. Around your neck, it rests close to your heart and your voice, there for the moments you need to speak your truth. Copper on your fingers is for the hands that create, keeping you grounded in everything you put into the world. And at the ankle, the part of your body closest to the earth, copper keeps you rooted and gives you a place to let go. Whatever you no longer need to carry, the earth is ready to receive.

Caring for your Copper

Your copper is alive, just like you. It will deepen and darken with time. That’s not wear, that’s wisdom.

When you’re ready to bring back its glow, mix warm water with a splash of vinegar and a pinch of salt. Let your copper soak for 30 seconds to a minute and a half, and never longer than five minutes. Rinse it, wash it with warm water and soap, then dry it and wear it.

If you notice a soft green kiss on your skin, it washes right off. In the healing tradition I come from, we see it as the medicine meeting your body, a quiet conversation between you and your copper. When that kiss shows up darker or brown, take it as a gentle nudge to drink more water and replenish the minerals within your body. Your copper is medicine, and it’s a teacher too.
